Day 3

With days passing by we are getting more and more used to the normal schedule and pace of life here. Punctually, at 6 AM the first campers were on a basketball court dribbling, shooting and trying to stay warm as the morning was particularly cold. Hopefully that was only a sign of a cloudless night and a beautiful day. That is a real blessing since most of the time we are outside and rain is definitely something we do not miss. A couple of minutes before 7AM, guys started to work on their basketball skills in more structured way at the basketball clinic. After that, we moved quite quickly to the following points of the day - meals, classes, group activities, working on swimming skills, and short periods of free time. This took us to dinner time. By this time Cabin 3 had come back from their hike--they successfully climbed Cascade Mountain. (Pictures are here). We had also two nice events during dinner - first, we warmly welcomed Fr. Jack Podsiadlo, a jesuit and dear friend of Nativity who has been coming to camp for last 25 years and helping with whatever camp needs. At the end of dinner we sang Happy Birthday to Jorge Aguilar who is 13 today and thanked him for having Birthday as it was a good reason to have an extra cake. During his speech Jorge said that it is his 3rd Birthday here and it's been great to celebrate them at camp...
